< 25 % load is shown on the display when the drum is full. The load is displayed in %.

Reset the zero point. See the operating instructions.
< 25 % when drum empty

< 25 % is shown on the display when the drum is empty.

It is normal for < 25 % load to be shown when the drum is empty.
-0- on the display

0-0 is shown on the display when the position of the programme selector was changed after starting the programme. 

Turn the programme selector back to the previously started programme.
888 on the display

Exit demo mode to get rid of the code and use the machine.

888 shows when the machine is in demo mode.
ADD on the display

ADD indicates that the door can be opened for you to remove or add laundry. If you don’t want to add laundry, you need not do anything.

This is not a fault.
Any-crease/Chack detergent

A lot of foam has been generated during washing.

Use less detergent during the next wash. Follow the dispensing quantity instructions given on the detergent packaging.
Anti-crease/Finish indicator light flashes and Locked comes on

The selected programme setting was changed while the lock was activated.

Press the start button until the locked indicator goes out.
Call Service

The lamp for the drum lighting is not properly fitted.

Check whether the lamp for the drum lighting is properly fitted. Switch the washing machine off and disconnect it from the power mains. Remove the lever from behind the detergent drawer panel. Place the lever in the drum lighting slot. Turn the lever clockwise until you feel it stop.
Check detergent

Excess detergent was used.

Follow the detergent manufacturer’s dispensing quantity guidelines.
Check inlet indicator light flashes.

The stopcock is not open.

The inlet filter is soiled.

The water inlet hose is kinked.

The water connection pressure in the water supply pipe is too low.

There is a technical fault.

Terminate the wash programme. Open the stopcock. Select the programme and start it again. Clean the inlet filter (2). Remove any kinks or loops from the water inlet hose. Please contact the facility manager or a plumber. Contact Miele Customer Service.
Ctrl on the display

The Remote control function is switched on.

The Remote control function can be deactivated (programming mode P97, programming option 00) to prevent the Ctrl message being displayed at the start of a programme.
Dashes – – – on display and indicator lights flash

The Miele Waterproof system has been activated.

Close the water inlet. Disconnect the washing machine from the mains and the drain pump will stop running. Remove the laundry from the drum by means of the emergency release. Use a screwdriver to unlock the door. Pull open the door. Contact Miele Customer Service.
Display texts in another language

The language has been set to a foreign language.

Depending on the model, you can change the language with the programmable functions or via the “Settings” menu option. The flag symbol on the display indicates the language setting.
Drain indicator light flashes

The end of the drain hose is too high.

The drain filter and the drain pump are blocked.

Make sure that the maximum delivery head of 1 m is not exceeded. Clean the drain filter and the drain pump. Consult the operating instructions for further information.
Enter PIN code

Enter the PIN code and confirm the entry.

If you do not want this message to appear in the display the next time the appliance is switched on, deactivate the PIN code function.

Consult the operating instructions for further information.

The PIN code lock function is active.
Exclamation mark and Technical fault flashing

Technical fault.

Switch off the washing machine. If possible, disconnect the washing machine from the mains by pulling out the plug. Reconnect the washing machine to the mains. Switch on the washing machine. If the fault persists, please book a repair. Contact us about our Repair & Care option if your appliance is broken.

Technical fault. Short circuit in heating/water temperature sensor circuit.

The stopcock is not open.

Terminate the wash programme. Open the stopcock. Select the programme and start it again.

The end of the drain hose is too high.

The drain hose is kinked.

The drain filter and the drain pump are blocked.

Make sure that the maximum delivery head of 1 m is not exceeded. Remove any kinks or loops from the drain hose. Keep an eye on these points for a while afterwards, as the plastic may weaken and tear. The hot water stopcock has not been opened.

The hot water inlet filter is soiled.

Terminate the wash programme. Open the hot water stopcock. Select the programme and start it again.
F16

Excess detergent additives, such as stain remover, have been used.

Incorrect wash programme selected for the laundry being processed.

Excess foam due to too much detergent being dispensed.

Reduce the quantity of detergent additives used. Select a wash programme suitable for the laundry being processed. Follow the detergent manufacturer’s recommendations in accordance with the water hardness and level of soiling. If the fault persists, please contact us or book a repair appointment online.

Technical fault. Flowmeter stiff.

F20 or heating fault

The Thermostop has been activated.

There is a technical fault. There is a fault with the heating.

As soon as the required temperature is reached, the wash programme resumes and the time left display starts to run down again.

F34 or door lock

The drum has been overloaded.

There is a technical fault.

Observe the maximum load size in accordance with the operating instructions. Switch the appliance off and then back on again. Disconnect the washing machine from the electricity supply. Switch off at the wall and withdraw the plug from the socket, or disconnect the fuse. Wait at least 2 minutes before reconnecting the washing machine to the electricity supply. Switch the washing machine on again. If the fault persists, please contact us about our Repair & care options if your appliance is broken.
F35 or door release

Technical fault.

Remove the laundry from the drum by means of the emergency release. For further information on the emergency release, please refer to the operating instructions.
F37

The washing machine is not installed perfectly level.

The drain hose has been connected too high up.

Check that the washing machine is standing level. Consult the operating instructions for further information. Check that the drain hose has been positioned correctly. If the fault persists, please contact us or book a repair appointment online.

When washing, a wash programme using a temperature above 60 °C has not been run for a long time.

Run the Cottons 90 °C programme using Miele machine cleaner or a multi-purpose powder detergent.

TwinDos has not been used for too long a time. It is possible that detergent has dried inside the hoses.

Immediately carry out the TwinDos maintenance programme as described in “Cleaning and care – TwinDos maintenance”.
Locked

The safety lock is active.

Switch the safety lock off.
Start does not light up

The door is closed. 

Open the door. Press and hold the Load/dispensing button until Zero point setting o.k. appears on the display.
Soak/Pre-wash, Wash, Rinse or Rinse Stop flashes

Technical fault.

Turn the programme selector to Finish. Switch off the washing machine. Switch the washing machine on again. Start a programme. If the fault persists, please contact us or book a repair appointment online.
